This is an original story that The Lord had inspired me with.
One day, The Lord decided to bring 2 guys, Andy & Tom to a place called Forbidden land. God told them that the things that they see will see in the land are things that they will never be able to own, enjoy or achieve in their lifetime!
As the 2 guys were walking around Forbidden land, they stumbled upon their dream cars. Andy's face turned cold instantly, thinking to himself: WHAT!!THAT'S LIKE MY DREAM CAR N GOD'S TELLING ME I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO DRIVE THAT CAR IN MY LIFETIME? Tom, upon seeing his dream car, smiled and walked away.
They soon arrived at a place where they saw 2 performers. Andy, aspiring to be a really great guitarist ever since he was young, saw the best guitarist ever in his lifetime! That guitarist played like a dream! He has the speed, the melodic creativity and was a natural music performer. Andy walked away with a feeling of disappointment, asking God why he would never be the best guitarist. Tom, whom have been aspiring to be the best dancer, saw the best dancer ever! That dancer was perfect! precise movement, full of vibrance n elegance, every move that the dancer made seemed to be like a grace. Even though seeing the dancer = Tom would never be able to dance like that in his lifetime, Tom walked away smiling happily to himself.
Andy n Tom continued walking, where they stumble upon 2 lovely ladies. The 1st girl immediately drew Andy into the next level of fantasy. She seemed like everything Andy ever wanted. She had the looks, the correct dress sense, the perfect figure, the perfect character, the perfect smile n beautiful eyes. The 2nd girl was Tom's type of dream girl. Same case as Andy's, that girl seemed to have everything Tom ever wanted in a girl. Andy turned furious instantly, thinking: WHAT! SUCH A BEAUTY N U'RE TELLING ME THAT SHE'LL NEVER BE MY WIFE? While Tom revealed an expression of hidden great joy.
After they left Forbidden land, Andy couldn't take it anymore! He began to curse n swear: Man! what's wrong with u Tom! Why are you smiling so happily? Don't you feel miserable??There are so many things in Forbidden land....that we really liked from the bottom of our hearts, but yet we are told that those r the things we'll never get in our lifetime! If I can never achieve those "dreams", why is God showing me those things? Is He trying to laugh at me, showing me what I'm deprive of? Why is it that u seem so happy after seeing those things, even though you know they'll never be yours?
Tom replied: oh...at first I saw my dream car..I instantly realised that I could never afford such cars in my lifetime, and I was happy! Because, deep in my mind I'm thinking "since I don't have the chance to own cars, u mean God's gonna bless me with something better den cars?oh man that's so great!"
When I walked past that best dancer, I realised that the position of a "best dancer" was taken up. That was the position that I have wanted all my life. Since it's already taken up by some1 else, I'm happy! Because I can't believe God's gonna provide me with an even better position in life that I could ever imagine!!!
When I saw that girl that seemed to have everything I've ever wanted, I realise that she's some1 that I would never be able to get. And I was overjoyed! I can't believe that God has already prepared an even better girl for me!!!
Sometimes we want certain things in life badly, and God just wouldn't give them to us. It seems like He often forbids us from what we think is already the best. We thought we are being deprived. Have we forgotten that He is able to bless n provide us with things far beyond our imagination n expectations?
